Brice finally decided on being a ninja for Halloween. I have to say I was quite proud of our costume. It was homemade and (I think) better looking than anything you could find in the stores. As a parent I better understand why my mom always said the best costumes were homemade. We took him to the mall to trick or treat, primarily so he could see all the other kids in costumes (and it was warm and dry). Everyone kept stopping and saying “Hey look at that ninja!” His costume was a hit. I ended up making the mast and hood at the last minute from some jersey knit fabric we picked up. It wasn’t perfect, but got the job done. He was excited and loved his mask and that’s what mattered to me.
